Euro VI - Type-approval for Heavy Duty Vehicles

Reducing harmful emissions from trucks and buses is the objective of the Regulation (EC) 595/2009.

The ‘Political part’ of the legislative framework for the type-approval of heavy duty vehicles provides for the transfer of all provisions on access to repair information from the ‘Euro 5’ Regulation to the future Euro VI Regulation on heavy duty vehicles. It specifies notably that vehicle on-board diagnostic (OBD) information and vehicle repair and maintenance information should be made available to all independent aftermarket operators.
