Type-Approval legislation for two- and three-wheelers

The European Commission has launched a new initiative to simplify the current legal framework (currently composed of 15 Directives), to lower road transport emissions, and to increase vehicle safety for new two- or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles (L-category vehicles). The upcoming legislative framework will also tackle repair and maintenance of these vehicles.

Considering the ever increasing complexity of electronic components in this type of vehicles, access to repair and maintenance information for all operators of the aftermarket is of crucial importance to keep competition and the free choice of the drivers for the maintenance of their vehicle.
