Our office in Brussels is seeking a:
POLICY MANAGER
EU AFFAIRS & LEGAL
Full time position based in Brussels, starting asap.
Job Description
- Monitor EU policy and legislation developments in relation to the areas of concern to the automotive aftermarket and conduct research on relevant policy areas (Transport, Single Market, Environment, Competition etc.);
- Perform legal analysis on matters involving EU competition law, Intellectual Property law, International Commercial law and EU law in general; - Drafting of documents: position papers, legal memorandum, policy reports, proposals for amendments to EP reports and other legislative drafts, contributions to Commission’s consultations, minutes of meetings, articles, press releases, speeches, PowerPoint presentations; - With the Secretary General, contribute to the development and the implementation of advocacy and communication strategies including specific campaigns; - Attend events and partake in official meeting of the European institutions or of other relevant stakeholders; - Support the organisation of the federation’s statutory meetings, technical meetings, workshops, seminars/conference.
Profile
The ideal candidate should: - Be a graduate in Law, with a good knowledge of European Law;
- Be proficient in English and French, knowledge of German would be a plus; - Enjoy up to 5 years of professional experience in the Brussels’ political arena;
- Have a degree in European Studies or demonstrate a thorough understanding of the functioning of the European institutions;
- Be motivated and a fast learner, eager to acquire general and technical knowledge of the automotive sector and especially its aftermarket facet; - Be committed and a flexible team-player, able to work in a multicultural environment; - Be committed to diligence and accuracy; - Be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure; - Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint.
