Press Release - New Brussels based Remote Service Supplier Community Launched
A group of leading automotive Remote Service Suppliers (RSS) has announced the creation of the Remote Service Supplier Community, a new initiative bringing together companies that deliver remote diagnostics, software programming, coding, calibration and technical support services to workshops across Europe.
The Community aims to defend the interests of companies providing remote services, in the vital role they play in supporting workshops in the maintenance and repair of today's increasingly connected, electrified and software-defined vehicles.
The founding members include Clever Diagnostix, Core Diagnostics, DAF Conseil, Grup Eina, Herth+Buss Mobility Solutions, Jifeline Remote Diagnostics, Repairify and Saint-Gobain, all leading service providers in the field and representing a mix of national, regional and pan-European operators.
Remote Service Suppliers enable workshops to access specialist expertise when carrying out increasingly complex repair and maintenance operations. Their services include ADAS calibration support, coding of parts and equipment, remote diagnostics and troubleshooting, - and software updates. “The remote provision of such services is now essential to ensuring any workshop, no matter how big or small, or wherever located can provide essential repair and maintenance services, ensuring vehicle safety, compliance and roadworthiness” says Phil Peace, Managing Director International for Repairify Inc.
As vehicles become more technologically advanced and increasingly software-driven, independent multi-brand workshops face growing challenges, including increasingly complex manufacturer-specific repair procedures and a growing need for software-based repair operations. These challenges are further compounded by ongoing shortages of specialised technicians. Remote Service Suppliers help overcome these barriers by delivering expert support on demand, enabling workshops of all sizes to perform sophisticated repairs efficiently, remaining competitive, and continue providing high-quality service to their customers.
The Community highlights the significant value RSS services create for the wider automotive ecosystem. By reducing vehicle downtime, improving repair efficiency, supporting compliance with safety and environmental requirements, and enabling access to specialist expertise, remote service providers contribute to a competitive and innovative aftermarket that benefits consumers, businesses and mobility operators alike.
At the same time, the Community notes that its ability to support Europe's automotive sector depends on fair and effective access to repair and maintenance information, diagnostic tools, software functions and vehicle systems. It seeks to promote a policy and regulatory framework that enables workshops to continue serving vehicle owners, fleets, mobility operators and insurers effectively. Members have identified unequal access conditions, non-transparent fees, fragmented requirements and insufficient enforcement of existing legislation as the key challenges affecting the market.
"Remote Service Suppliers have become an essential part of modern vehicle repair and maintenance. By connecting workshops with specialist expertise, we help ensure that vehicle owners across Europe continue to benefit from efficient, safe and competitive repair services, regardless of where they are located. The creation of this Community provides a common platform to explain our contribution and engage constructively with policymakers and stakeholders" says Frank Bouman, a co-founder of Jifeline Remote Diagnostics.
This new Community is hosted by FIGIEFA, the European Federation representing independent automotive parts distributors. FIGIEFA will provide secretariat services, regulatory expertise, legislative monitoring and strategic guidance, enabling the Community to operate effectively and engage on emerging policy developments. “FIGIEFA is proud to host this important new Community. 2026 is the 70th anniversary of FIGIEFA’s foundation. We have a long history of hosting and incubating various alliances and associations. We fully recognise the importance of this emerging sector, and we want to ensure there is a legislative framework in place which supports their viral work” says Sylvia Gotzen, Chief Executive of FIGIEFA.
The Community will engage with EU institutions, industry stakeholders and aftermarket organisations to promote greater understanding of the role of remote services in the future of automotive repair and maintenance.
